Call-for-Articles: Antisemitismus in S\u00fcdosteuropa<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Die dritte Ausgabe der k\u00fcnftig als Themenhefte herausgegebenen S\u00fcdosteurop\u00e4ischen Hefte<\/i> widmet sich dem Thema \u201eAntisemitismus in S\u00fcdosteuropa\u201c. Die vielf\u00e4ltigen Formen der Judenfeindschaft, welche seit dem Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts unter dem Begriff Antisemitismus subsumiert werden, sind seit Jahrzehnten Gegenstand der Forschung. Antisemitismus in S\u00fcdosteuropa, seine Bedeutung und Intensit\u00e4t im politischen und sozialen Raum sind hierbei aber weitgehend unber\u00fccksichtigt geblieben. Die SH <\/i>laden daher Wissenschaftler_innen ein, mit ihren Beitr\u00e4gen Forschungs- und Wissensl\u00fccken zu schlie\u00dfen sowie Diskussionen und \u00dcberlegungen anzuregen.<\/p>\n

Antisemitisches Denken und Handeln waren und sind nicht immer sofort greifbar. Dies gilt gerade f\u00fcr weite Teile der s\u00fcdosteurop\u00e4ischen Gesellschaften, wo weder eine ausgepr\u00e4gte politische noch soziale Sensibilit\u00e4t f\u00fcr die Wirkmacht des Antisemitismus vorhanden ist. So wird Antisemitismus oftmals ausschlie\u00dflich als Teil der j\u00fcdischen Geschichte betrachtet. Dabei war und ist Antisemitismus ein gesamtgesellschaftliches Ph\u00e4nomen, das sich allerdings in seinen Auswirkungen in die j\u00fcdische Geschichte einschreibt. Umso wichtiger erscheint es uns, Themenfelder zu beleuchten, in denen sich Judenfeindschaft \u201enebenbei\u201c manifestiert hatte. So stellen sich etwa Fragen nach der Bedeutung des Antisemitismus in den Diskursen um Nationalit\u00e4ten und Minderheiten, um Ausgrenzung und Identit\u00e4t seit dem 19. Jahrhundert bis heute. Zu bedenken w\u00e4re der Stellenwert, den die Judenfeindschaft in der Literatur, in der Frauenbewegung, im Sozialismus, in der Positionierung zum Staat Israel oder gar im jugoslawischen Zerfallsprozess der 1990er Jahre hatte. Eine gezielte Auseinandersetzung mit dem Ph\u00e4nomen verspricht einen Erkenntnisgewinn an sich und erm\u00f6glicht dar\u00fcber hinaus eine kritische Reflexion historischer Prozesse und gesellschaftlicher Dynamiken in der Region.<\/p>\n

Die Redaktion begr\u00fc\u00dft Beitr\u00e4ge und Essays, die die vielf\u00e4ltigen Erscheinungsformen des Antisemitismus in S\u00fcdosteuropa untersuchen. Wir hei\u00dfen Beitr\u00e4ge aus allen geistes-, kultur- und sozialwissenschaftlichen Disziplinen willkommen. Ebenso sind epochen- und grenz\u00fcbergreifende Texte und Analysen erw\u00fcnscht. Call-for-Articles: Anti-Semitism in Southeastern Europe<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

The third number of S\u00fcdosteurop\u00e4ische Hefte,<\/i> which is going to be released as thematic publication from now on, addresses the topic of \u201cAnti-Semitism in Southeastern Europe\u201d. The various forms of hatred against Jews, which have been subsumed under the term of anti-Semitism since the end of the 19th<\/sup> century, were the subject of research for decades. However, anti-Semitism in Southeastern Europe, its relevance and intensity within the areas of politics and society remained mostly unaccounted for. Therefore, the SH invites researchers to fill research and knowledge gaps by sending in their contributions and by inspiring further discussions and reflections.<\/p>\n

Anti-Semitic thinking and actions were and still are not always immediately manifested. This is especially true for broad parts of Southeastern European societies, where neither a distinct political nor a social sensibility exists regarding the impacts of anti-Semitism. Often, anti-Semitism is regarded exclusively as a part of Jewish history. In fact, anti-Semitism has to be considered a phenomenon of the entire society that, by its consequences, is inscribing into Jewish history though. Therefore, it seems even more important to us to highlight those aspects, which express a more \u2018casual\u2019, hidden hatred against Jews. For instance, it would be interesting here to pose questions about the relevance of anti-Semitism in the discourses on nationalities and minorities, on exclusion and identity from the 19th<\/sup> century until the present day. Also, it needs to be considered what significance the hatred against Jews has had in literature, within the women\u2018s movement, in socialism, with respect to the position towards the state of Israel or even within the process of break-up of Yugoslavia during the 1990ies. A focused examination of this phenomenon ensures promising new findings and furthermore allows a critical reflection of historical processes and societal dynamics in this region.<\/p>\n

The editorial staff appreciates contributions and essays that explore the various forms of manifestation of anti-Semitism in Southeastern Europe. We welcome contributions from all disciplines of humanities and social sciences. Cross-epoch and cross-border texts and analyses are welcome as well.
